PHOTOS: Tornado-warned storms track through Calgary, surrounding areas

The significant heat across the Prairies is increasing the risk of severe storms striking

Intense, rotating thunderstorms tracked through Calgary and surrounding areas on Thursday afternoon and triggered tornado warnings from Environment Canada.

In addition to strong winds and heavy rain, large hail was also recorded in a number of areas. All three Prairie provinces are seeing the risk for severe weather due to two low pressure systems tracking through the region.
