Calgary, Alta., saw its first significant snowfall of the fall, and it was quite an impactful affair.
Snowfall impacted Monday's commute times across southern Alberta, with Calgary experiencing peak snowfall rates at around 1 cm per hour through the morning. The results were vehicle accidents or getting stuck in ditches, transit buses becoming stranded, and flight delays at Calgary airport as services were put on a temporary pause, CBC reported.

Weather conditions may cause flight delays and cancellations, so check your flight status before heading to the airport.
Also, from midnight to 11:30 a.m., there were 186 reported collisions, including 16 with injuries and 29 non-injury hit and runs, police told CBC News.
System snow will continue to spread across southern Alberta through Monday night before departing early Tuesday. Expect travel conditions will remain poor beyond the departing of the snow.
An extended period of Arctic air will follow this system.
Into early December, temperatures will plunge well below freezing across the Prairies, ushering in a frigid stretch. Those in affected regions should prepare accordingly, as the cold pattern is expected to persist.
