There are plenty of TRICKS to this Halloween forecast in Ontario, so be sure to follow this hour-by-hour update for the latest weather in your area.

The potent Halloween storm that spans much of eastern Canada will bring widespread impact to Ontario in the form of heavy rain, wind and snow.

While parts of the south will at least enjoy some bonus warmth with temperatures climbing above seasonal throughout the day, much cooler conditions will bring the first major snowfall to northern Ontario Halloween night.

TIMING: RAIN, WINDS AND SNOW, TIMING HERE

A moisture-laden system with far reaching impacts brought the first round of rain to southern Ontario on Wednesday. Despite a brief break from the wet weather to start out Halloween, more widespread soaking rains will return Thursday afternoon and last well into the evening.

"Temperatures will be near seasonal however, and even several degrees milder across the Niagara region," says Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham.

ON Temps

The rain will gradually ease later Thursday night, but unfortunately this next break looks to come after trick-or-treat times. An Additional 20-30 mm of rain is expected throughout the day, bringing total amounts upwards of 50 mm for some.

The snow will pick up in intensity Thursday night, with the potential to mix with ice pellets in the North Bay area.

"Hazardous winter driving conditions are expected Thursday night," warns Environment Canada. "Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow."
