Soggy system to end this work week in southern Ontario
A rainy end to the work week in southern Ontario, with improvements expected as we roll through the weekend
Above-seasonal temperatures will round out the work week across southern Ontario, though widespread rain is on tap for the region, which could take away the benefits of the late-week warm-up.
The rain will push in through the day on Thursday, with some lingering showers lasting into the early parts of the weekend. The good news is that a secondary system that threatened even more rain for Saturday and Sunday looks to now remain stateside. So, there is no need to fully cancel outdoor weekend plans, with plenty of opportunity for dry conditions as well.

Thursday - Friday
A clipper system, known as a fast-moving low that generally develops over the Prairies, will move into northwestern Ontario late Wednesday and track across the south for Thursday.
The rain starts through the morning hours for the southwest, spreading into the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) through the afternoon and evening periods.

Through the overnight, the rain will continue for southern Ontario while beginning to spread east, with scattered rain showers continuing through the day on Friday.
In addition to the rain, winds will gust between 30 and 50 km/h, with some lakeshore areas exceeding 50 km/h.

Saturday - Sunday
By Saturday, there will still be some lingering rain across eastern Ontario as a secondary clipper tracks towards the Great Lakes. At this point, however, the track of this system looks to remain stateside, with rain showers missing the southwest. Despite being a few days away, there is still a chance for the track to change slightly.
Regardless, cloud cover will linger on Sunday, with some sun poking through here and there.
A few days of warmer weather are forecast for the middle of or late next week, with temperatures reaching the mid-to-upper teens. Then, an active pattern is expected for the final days of October and into early November.
