Low-elevation snow could sneak into B.C. on Sunday

A wet and chilly pattern continues across B.C. to end the weekend

An unseasonably cold pattern visiting British Columbia has brought some rain and even snow to lower elevations of the province this weekend.

The cool and dreary conditions will continue through Sunday—and we could even see snow push into portions of Metro Vancouver.

This will help to put a dent in the major deficits in alpine snowpack, but could have a significant impact on travel through mountain passes at times, as well.

BC South Coast Snowfall Through Monday

We saw a wet start to the weekend as a weak system arrived across B.C. Rain at lower elevations and snow through the mountains and valleys will continue into Sunday.

The combination of precipitation and below-seasonal temperatures could lead to low-elevation snow near sea level overnight Sunday into early Monday. Some communities in the northern Vancouver Metro area could pick up a touch of snow from this event.

The colder-than-normal temperatures are likely to persist across Western Canada through early next week before temperatures begin to trend milder.
