Spring will begin to look like summer in Alberta soon with Calgary and Edmonton potentially joining other Canadian cities in this year's 20-degree club.

Major cities in Alberta are eyeing their first 20°C day of the year this weekend as a surge of warm air moves into the region. That will come after Vancouver, B.C., could see its first 20-degree reading on Thursday.

A ridge of high pressure builds across Western Canada for the weekend, bringing ample sunshine and the first 20°C for Edmonton and Calgary? It's quite possible.

This weekend may bring 20-degree weather to major Alberta cities

Although parts of the Alberta have already seen their first 20°C so far, Edmonton and Calgary are still on the hunt for theirs. But that could change this weekend.

Alberta temperatures last 20 C day and Saturday forecast

Currently, Edmonton’s forecast is 20°C on Saturday while Calgary is projected to hit 19°C. The last time Calgary saw a temperature above 20°C was on Oct. 14, 2024 (23.6°C). Edmonton saw that reading on Oct. 8, 2024 (21.4°C).
