Heading to Eras Tour in Vancouver? You can't bring an umbrella to the stadium

It's always good to check a venue's website for a list of permitted and prohibited items before heading out.

A Pineapple Express is bringing rain to parts of BC, including Vancouver, Friday into Saturday as Taylor Swift heads to the city to wrap her Eras Tour.

The artist is playing three sold-out shows between Friday and Sunday. CBC estimates over 150,000 people will be heading to at least one of the shows at BC Place Stadium.

Seasoned concert-goers know to check a venue's policies on permitted and prohibited items before heading out — sometimes, there will be surprises. Some stadiums, like BC Place, only allow clear bags.

While the rainy weather may have Swifties reaching for umbrellas, they'll have to think again: Umbrellas are on the list of prohibited items for Eras Tour guests.

The rule appears to be specific to Swift's three shows — an older, unrelated post on the BC Place Stadium website mentions bringing in umbrellas, suggesting they are sometimes allowed.

As for the forecast, Vancouver will see rain on Friday. That will taper by Saturday, but on-and-off showers are expected throughout the day. By the time all is said and done, parts of the city could see up to 50 mm of precipitation.
