Summer's near, and we've frost advisories in five provinces
As The Weather Network releases its 2019 Summer Forecast, it's not feeling that way for many Canadians.
We all know the specific date where summer is said to start doesn't always match up with what the elements have decided, and as May comes to a close, it's not only looking a little chilly in some areas, it'll be cold enough for actual frost.

As of Monday, which marked the release of The Weather Network's 2019 Summer Forecast, five provinces -- Ontario, Quebec, and all three Maritime provinces -- have frost advisories in effect, due to a cold air mass set to move in tonight, with frost expected overnight or on Tuesday morning.
While in Ontario most of the advisories are in effect for the far north, Quebec has them in effect for a wider and more populous area, including Quebec City. On the East Coast, all of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island and most of coastal Nova Scotia along the Fundy shores and Northumberland Strait.
A late frost can be damaging not only for those with a green thumb but more seriously, can damage crops while they're still in their early stages, making them a real headache for farmers as well.
And, as one further illustration of how weird Canada's weather can get sometimes, these frost advisories existed Monday at the same time as a single heat warning -- in Fort Liard, Northwest Territories! The community in the southern part is expected to reach the 30°C mark Tuesday for the second time, which prompted the warning.
