Canada's Mother's Day weekend will be a tale of four seasons
The upcoming Mother’s Day weekend will offer a bit of every season across Canada, with no one-size-fits-all forecast on the table
Mother's Day weekend is quickly approaching, and if your plans include bringing your mom outdoors, you may need to pay extra attention to your weather forecast.
It all depends on where you live in Canada, of course, as there will be a variety of weather conditions forecast--cold and even wet snow possible!

Expect a colder-than-normal Mother’s Day for Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. Meanwhile, southern B.C. and Alberta will be warmer than normal. Saskatchewan and the Maritimes will be changeable, but near normal, while Newfoundland and Labrador will see above seasonal conditions.
Read on below for what to expect on Mother's Day weekend in your neck of the woods.
Temperatures:
Western Canada’s ridge, which has been behind the extreme heat in B.C., and Central Canada’s trough are set to ease slightly this weekend, but both patterns will remain in place.

The warmest locations in Canada are expected to be in B.C.'s southern interior and Alberta, where temperatures are projected to reach the mid to upper 20s. This is several degrees above seasonal norms for this time of year.
Saskatchewan will experience a temperature divide, with milder conditions anticipated in the western regions, while the eastern areas are likely to see cooler temperatures, similar to those forecast for Manitoba.
DON'T MISS: May can bring Canada 30-degree heat and late-spring snows
The below-normal temperatures are expected to be centred around Manitoba and Ontario, where daytime highs will be five to eight degrees below normal.
Winnipeg, Man., will struggle to reach the double digits (normal high is 17°C).
Windsor, Toronto and Ottawa, Ont., will remain in the low- to mid-teens.
Winnipeg’s forecast has the same temperature as Whitehorse, Yukon! Ottawa’s forecast has the same temperature as Happy Valley-Goose Bay, N.L.!
Meanwhile, near-normal temperatures are forecast in Atlantic Canada.
Precipitation:
Dry conditions will persist in the West this weekend, so if you have outdoor plans, they should go as planned. While there could be hit-and-miss showers on the South Coast in B.C. on Sunday, it won't be a washout.

No major storms are on the horizon this weekend, though periods of unsettled weather are expected. Many areas will see a mix of sun and cloud with chances of showers.
Snow flurries are in the forecast for northern Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.
The Maritimes may experience isolated showers on Saturday, followed by more widespread rain showers moving in on Sunday.
In Ontario, a weak low pressure system is expected to sweep through over the weekend. While the timing remains uncertain, central and southern regions could see widespread showers starting late Saturday.
