September to November: Southern Ontario's temperatures tumble for Thanksgiving
Your official Thanksgiving weekend forecast is here, and spoiler, it's going to get chilly
Thanksgiving weekend will start out feeling like September, but it will feel more like November before the weekend is over.
Similar to many weekends this year, the upcoming long weekend will include some rain. However, we will also see periods of sunshine.

After several days of autumnal weather, temperatures will rebound on Friday, with abundant sunshine and a gusty southwest wind. Most of southern Ontario will reach 20°C and many places will climb into the lower 20s, which is near seasonal for mid-September.
Sunshine will fade behind increasing clouds late in the day, and a period of showers is expected during the evening and into Friday night, especially to the north of Toronto, including cottage country.
Saturday will be mostly sunny and a few degrees cooler, but still above seasonal for mid-October. However, we will see increasing clouds from west to east across the region during the afternoon.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with showers developing. However, areas well north of Toronto should stay dry until late in the day. Temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.
Monday will be blustery and colder with temperatures more typical of early November. Scattered showers are also likely, especially southeast of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay due to lake effect showers.
Chilly temperatures will continue through the middle of next week with high temperatures remaining in the single digits for a couple of days and many places will see frost and freeze conditions at night, especially outside of urban areas.

However, temperatures will rebound late next week, and it looks like that will be the start of an extended stretch of warmer than normal temperatures, which will include next weekend.
