The first half of January was pretty mild and exceptionally dry across the province. However, that will soon change.
Although temperatures did drop after a cold front swept through the province on Thursday, the cold air will continue to usher in.
The coldest temperatures are yet to come, beating the previous coldest temperatures felt so far this winter.

The coldest temperatures will be felt on Sunday morning for those in the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island. The Interior and eastern portions of the province will see their coldest temperatures on Monday morning.

On Monday, most major towns and cities will see departures from normal temperatures, including Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, and Cranbrook.
Going forward, below seasonal conditions will continue for southern portions of the province throughout next week. There is the possibility of another shot of Arctic air to sweep across the province in the last week of January.
