Canada’s first severe thunderstorm warning of 2025 briefly went into effect around Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., as a small storm moved through the region.
The same setup that allowed that storm to bubble up also brought unseasonably warm weather to southern sections of Ontario.

Southern Ontario is looking at a decent chance of hitting the symbolic mark again this weekend as a powerful low-pressure system moves toward the Great Lakes, pushing additional surges of warm air north of the border. That warmth will spread toward Quebec late Sunday and move into the Maritimes by Monday.
