RAIN AND WINDS LINGER INTO TUESDAY
Newfoundland is set to see both rain and strong winds on Tuesday as the system tracks out of the region.
Between 15 to 25 mm of rain is expected throughout the central and southern regions, which brings the risk of pooling and flooding as the frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb the extra mositure.

Environment Canada warns that rain could be heavy at times, and could create flash flooding conditions.
GUSTY WINDS PROMPT WARNINGS
Powerful southwesterly winds have prompted wind warnings throughout the southeastern regions of Newfoundland, which are expected to diminish in the early hours of Tuesday.

CLIMBING TEMPERATURES, DOUBLE-DIGIT WEEKEND
While the week starts off with close to seasonal temperatures across the region, a steady warming trend is in store after the strong low pressure system moves out Tuesday, as high pressure moves in and strong flow brings up warmth from the southern regions in the United States.
That means mainly sunny skies through mid-week, and temperatures making their way into the double digits for many. An approaching late-week system will give an added boost, forecast to nudge temperatures some ten degrees above average for parts of the Maritimes on Saturday.
