Monday: Long weekend finishes with storms in southern Ontario
Forecasters are watching for developing thunderstorms in portions of southern Ontario Monday, potentially severe in areas along Lake Huron, Georgian Bay, and southwestern sections.
Tornado warnings lit up parts of Michigan on Monday afternoon while a cold front continued across the Great Lakes. For this side of the border storms are sweeping across southern Ontario and will roll off the shores of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. Strong wind gusts are the primary threat, along with heavy rain and small hail. Residents living in Windsor, London, Goderich and Owen Sound, in particular, should exercise caution and monitor weather alerts.

The storms may reach the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) by the evening hours, however, losing some of their energy with the loss of sunlight and remaining non-severe in nature.
As well, southwesterly wind gusts will be strong. They will likely peak in the late afternoon and early evening hours ahead of the cold front. Gusts will reach 40-60+km/h. Winds will then ease through the overnight and shift to the northwest.
Temperatures will remain comfortable for Tuesday, near or even slightly below seasonal, but humidity soars by mid-week. The threat for non-severe storms will linger in southeastern Ontario on Tuesday.
