20-degree days make a brief return to dry southern B.C.

Get the shorts back out, southern B.C.! The long weekend is forecast to end on summer-like note.

It may be spring in Canada, but British Columbia will be feeling a bit more like summer for the next couple of days as temperatures return to the 20-degree mark.

A ridge of high pressure will briefly inch toward the Canada-United States border on Sunday, lifting warm air with it and sending temperatures to above-seasonal levels. The South Coast is forecast to be 5-8 degrees above seasonal, with Monday being the warmest day of the week.

The Interior valleys will also have another chance to see the thermometer reach 20°C on both Sunday and Monday with the mild weather.

Cities such as Osoyoos and Kamloops have already seen their share of 20+°C weather this spring, but for many others, this could be a first for the year. In fact, the Vancouver Airport hasn't recorded a 20-degree day since Sept. 30, 2025! Unfortunately, Vancouver is likely to miss out on this chance for the first 20°C reading of the year, but temperatures in the high teens and a mix of sun and cloud will still make it a comfortable weekend to spend outdoors.

Temperatures are forecast to stay seasonal (around 13°C) for Vancouver during the first week of April.
