Skiing in the footsteps of champions at Whistler Blackcomb

Go for gold! Follow along as The Weather Network's Mia Gordon takes on Whistler Blackcomb’s Gold Medal Route—one of seven self-guided Wonder Routes—skiing the same runs used by athletes during the 2010 Winter Olympics!

The Winter Olympics have officially arrived in Italy, and we are feeling the team spirit. The last time Canada hosted the Winter Olympics was in 2010, at Whistler Blackcomb.

Recently, the resort has created seven new Wonder Routes, including the Gold Medal Route, which takes visitors down the same runs that the athletes skied during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Whistler has such vast terrain, and offering these self-guided routes helps visitors experience all that the resort has to offer.

The Weather Network's Mia Gordon had a chance to ski the same routes as the Olympic athletes, but let's just say she will likely stick to reporting! Watch the video above to check out her experience.
