Man uses an internet search to build outdoor hockey rink
The holidays may be over but you can’t miss the lights shining bright on a front yard hockey rink in Halifax, N.S.
The internet can be a useful tool for many do-it-yourself projects, even building an outdoor hockey rink.

“Well, I built it first last year. I didn’t know what I was doing but Google’s a wonderful tool,” said Chuck Ryan, in an interview with The Weather Network.
He says the early cold weather helped out this year.

“Last year, we got a solid month out of it. This [season], so far so good. [We] skated all over Christmas, and it’s going to be cold for the next couple of weeks. So, it looks promising," said Ryan.
His kids and their friends are making good use of his efforts.
“I like just playing with my friends and practising," said Audrey McNeil.
“You get to improve your skills, even if you don’t play hockey, so you don’t have to book a rink or drive anywhere," said Lillian Ryan.
“As level as it looks, it’s definitely not level. You [have to] account for that, but I just wanted to get my kids out skating more," Chuck said.
