
Two early morning earthquakes strike the coast of Labrador

No damage has been reported after two early morning earthquakes in coastal Labrador.
A magnitude 4.4 earthquake was reported in eastern Labrador early Wednesday.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake struck just north of Makkovik Wednesday morning, a small fishing town in coastal Labrador. Makkovik is located about 200 km northeast of Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Earthquakes Canada measured this earthquake as a magnitude 4.7.

Earthquakes Canada also reported another magnitude 4.5 earthquake in the Makkovik region during the predawn hours Wednesday. This quake was detected at 2:52 AST, with shaking felt in both Postville and Makkovik.
There have been no reports of injuries or damage in the area.
