A moose crafted in snow: The ultimate Canadian creation!
This one-of-a-kind 'stomp art' was created by graphic artist Eric Goggin
You’ve heard of mysterious crop circles, but if you stumbled upon this image of a moose that appeared on a frozen lake in New Brunswick, you might think the aliens are Canadian.
Of course, it wasn’t created by a UAV. Graphic artist Eric Goggin used his drone to capture an overhead view, which helped him maintain scale while creating what he calls ‘stomp art.’
“I sketched out a picture of a moose, and once the drone was in the air, I could refer to the image for scale. I could see my steps and the lines I was making through the monitor on my drone controller,” he explained.

He wasn’t wearing snowshoes; instead, he simply kicked the snow from side to side with his winter boots.
“If it had been wet, it would have been a challenge. The snow was just perfect—really grainy and marbly. It wasn’t wet, so it kicked away nicely, and there was only 4 or 5 inches of snow.”
It took him about three hours to complete the artwork on Washademoak Lake, where he has a summer cottage.
