SEE IT: The moment a giant iceberg collapses near a ferry
The eastern coastlines of Atlantic Canada are some of the best places in the world to catch a glimpse of towering icebergs floating just a few kilometres away from the shore.
Each year thousands flock to Newfoundland and Labrador between May and early July to spot the massive ice blocks that come in every shape and size and range from snow-white to deep emerald.

Footage from a recent boat tour captured the exact moment that an iceberg suddenly collapses and causes a thunderous roar, as seen in the video above. The nearby vessel was able to inch away just in the nick of time to avoid the waves caused by the crashing ice blocks.
