Giant asparagus-like plant set to bloom after growing two-storeys tall

The gigantic plant you need to see to believe.

Looks can be deceiving, and if you saw this plant in person, you might think it was an overgrown piece of asparagus.

While it's technically a century plant, also known as Agave americana, it is actually related to the asparagus that we buy at the grocery store.

A homeowner in Houston, Texas, planted one a few years ago, now appearing to be as high as two storeys. This species of plant is known to live for 25-30 years, but it only flowers once in its lifetime.
