Giant fish washes ashore on Australian beach

Yup, that's a big fish.

A giant fish was recently found by two fishermen on a beach in South Australia's Coorog National Park.

They thought it was fake at first, CNN reports -- but it's actually a sunfish, and it's very much real.

According to National Parks South Australia, sunfish are the largest bony fish and can weigh as much as a car.

This particular fish appears unharmed so it's unclear how it died.

Sunfish spend most of their time in the deep ocean, but they're often drawn closer to shore to feed on jellyfish.

According to experts, sunfish can travel great distances and they have been spotted in this part of Australia before.

Earlier this month, a two-metre-long "hoodwinker" sunfish washed ashore on a California beach. It's the first time a hoodwinker sunfish has ever been spotted in North America. Researchers are studying the fish to find out how it ended up there.
