Alberta RCMP catch fox fleeing the scene with stolen BBQ
Suspect is considered armed (with hot dog wieners).
Alberta RCMP often posts announcements and updates to its Facebook page, in the name of public safety.
And now, with the long weekend a few days away and BBQ season revving up, officials are warning residents in Crowsnest Pass to be on the lookout for a known thief.
“On May 11th, around the dinner hour, Crowsnest Pass RCMP received a call for service on a theft of BBQ goods,” officials said on Facebook, alongside a photo of the perpetrator, pictured here as a visual reference:

“Crowsnest Pass RCMP Officers attended the area to search for a suspect described as red hair, short in stature & wearing a thick coat.
Upon searching the area, the suspect was located trying to conceal the evidence.”
Police say the victims have decided not to lay charges, so the thief was free to go, presumably with its loot in tow.
Concerned citizens are doing their duty and sharing the post to raise awareness — at the time of this writing, it has received more than 32,000 “likes”.
While thefts of this kind can happen any time, The Weather Network would like to remind the public that such incidents may increase during spring, when animals are recovering from winter and preparing for breeding and nesting season.
Natural food sources can be harder to find this time of year, especially when the season is off to a cooler start.
This can prompt opportunistic animals to get creative and scavenge campsites, outdoor pet food dishes, and unattended barbecues for food sources.
