A wedding with a view: Hot air balloon ceremonies an option in Nova Scotia
Veronica Baker and Garrett Doncaster got married approximately 6,500 feet in the air, drifting above Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley inside a hot air ballon.
Veronica Baker and Garrett Doncaster are feeling on top of the world.
On June 13, travelling at 28 knots in a hot air balloon around 6,500 feet above Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley, they got married.
It was all arranged by Sarah Anderson, who runs East Coast Pop Up Weddings, which focuses on tiny weddings and elopements. Her philosophy is "when you get married with a small group of people, your location options are endless."

The fruition of the hot air balloon wedding was not a response to COVID-19. Anderson has been operating her business for two years now, and Veronica and Garrett had been planning the balloon ride elopement long before the pandemic.
