Welcome to a natural medicine demonstration, as part of the cultural village on the Halifax Common this week.

It’s all part of the North American Indigenous Games. With 5,000 participants representing over 750 Indigenous nations, the cultural village allows athletes and spectators alike to learn about more than just sports.

In the video above, Gary Joseph of the Sipekne’katik First Nation explains the significance of sweet grass.
