Recommended Action
Check on older family, friends and neighbours. Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle such as extra blankets and jumper cables. If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside. Watch for colour changes on fingers and toes, pain, numbness, a tingling sensation, or swelling. If present, move indoors and begin warming. Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks to warm up.

Yellow Advisory - Blowing Snow

Description

Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected beginning this afternoon or early this evening.

What:
Significantly reduced visibility in blowing snow.
Strong wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h possible.

When:
Beginning this afternoon or early this evening, continuing tonight and possibly into Saturday morning.

Additional Information:
Strong northwesterly winds will develop this afternoon which will lead to blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility. Visibility may even be near zero at times for wind-prone and exposed areas.

Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle such as extra blankets and jumper cables.

Travel will likely be hazardous due to near-zero visibility. Road closures are possible.
