Another intense low pressure system will move into the Maritimes Sunday. This storm is forecast to start as snow Sunday afternoon, with a possibility of a prolonged period of freezing rain, especially over higher terrain. Freezing rain will eventually change over to rain Sunday night as the system moves into the gulf waters.

As this system moves off on Monday very strong winds and snowsqualls will impact northern Cape Breton, leading to difficult traveling conditions, with whiteouts and power outages possible.
