Flood Warning

Description

What: Flooding caused by recent rain and snowmelt continues.
Where: A portion of northern Michigan, including the following counties, Cheboygan and Emmet.
When: Until 800 PM EDT Thursday.
Impacts: Flooding is occurring. Roads and structures near lakes and rivers will continue to see high water levels with slow improvement expected into next week.
Additional Details: - At 325 AM EDT, Flooding continues across the warned area, which encompasses a large portion of Emmet and Cheboygan counties. - Large portions of Emmet and Cheboygan counties. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts may be unstable and unsafe.

Description

Gusty southwest winds and low relative humidity will lead to elevated fire danger today. Winds of 10 to 20 mph and frequent gusts of 25-35 mph will be seen over much northern Michigan late this morning through this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values of 20-35 percent are expected over much of northern lower Michigan. These conditions could lead to rapid spread of fires.
