Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of southwest California, including the following counties, Southern Central San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara.
When: Until noon PST.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rock slides and mud slides. Possible minor debris flows.
Additional Details: - At 603 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Be aware of rock slides and mud slides, as they can occur even after the rain has ended. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, Montecito, Carpinteria, Solvang, El Capitan State Beach, Los Alamos, Refugio State Beach, Cuyama, Isla Vista, Highway 101 through Gaviota State Park, Summerland, Rincon Point, Goleta, Buellton, Sisquoc, Figueroa Mountain, Lake Cachuma, Highway 166 between Twitchell Dam and the Cuyama Valley and Highway 154 over San Marcos Pass. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Be aware of rock slides and mud slides.
