Yellow Warning - Winter Storm
Hazardous winter conditions are expected.
Locations: Inverness County - Mabou and north and Victoria County.
Total snowfall: 15 cm, with locally higher amounts possible.
Maximum wind gusts: westerly 100 km/h.
Time span: Monday morning until Monday night.
Remarks: A low pressure system will move into the Maritimes today. This storm is expected to start as snow this afternoon, with a possibility of prolonged period of freezing rain, especially over higher terrain. Freezing rain will change to rain tonight. As the system moves away on Monday strong winds and periods of snow and possible snowsqualls will impact northern Cape Breton. Localized bands may produce higher snowfall totals over some areas. Strong winds accompanying the snow will reduce visibility at times in blowing snow.
