THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 109 IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN IOWA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 7 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL IOWA FLOYD IN NORTHEAST IOWA ALLAMAKEE CHICKASAW CLAYTON FAYETTE HOWARD WINNESHIEK IN MINNESOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA HOUSTON IN WISCONSIN THIS WATCH INCLUDES 8 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL WISCONSIN ADAMS JUNEAU IN SOUTHWEST WISCONSIN CRAWFORD GRANT RICHLAND VERNON IN WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN LA CROSSE MONROE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CALEDONIA, CHARLES CITY, CRESCO, DECORAH, ELKADER, FRIENDSHIP, LA CROSSE, MAUSTON, NEW HAMPTON, OELWEIN, PLATTEVILLE, PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, RICHLAND CENTER, SPARTA, TOMAH, VIROQUA, AND WAUKON.

Flood Warning

Description

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Wisconsin Black River Near Galesville affecting Trempealeau and La Crosse Counties. Black River at Black River Falls affecting Jackson County. .Moderate flooding is forecast along the Black River at Black River Falls and Galesville. Additional river and weather information is available at www.weather.gov/lacrosse. The next statement will be issued Wednesday morning by 1100 AM CDT.
What: Moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: Black River near Galesville.
When: From Wednesday morning to early Sunday morning.
Impacts: At 12.0 feet, Flooding mainly impacts wildlands and agricultural pasture land. The approaches on both ends of the County Road VV bridge over the Black River in Jackson County may begin to flood and the bridge gates may be closed.
Additional Details: - At 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 8.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow morning to a crest of 13.9 feet Thursday evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday afternoon. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 13.9 feet on 04/05/1982. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
