Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Wisconsin Kickapoo River at Readstown affecting Vernon County. Kickapoo River at Viola affecting Vernon and Richland Counties.
What: Moderate flooding is occurring and is forecast.
Where: Kickapoo River at Viola.
When: Until early Wednesday morning.
Impacts: At 17.0 feet, Water is flowing over Highway 56 east of Viola.
Additional Details: - At 10:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 16.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 13.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.1 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 17.3 feet on 08/14/2010. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
