Recommended Action
Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters, stop, turn around and go another way. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued this evening at 1030 PM CDT.

Description

At 1129 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Ottawa, or 8 miles southwest of Wales, moving east at 50 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include Waukesha, New Berlin, Muskego, Pewaukee, Mukwonago, Wales, Vernon, Ottawa, Dousman, North Prairie, Big Bend, Brookfield, Rome, Sullivan, Genesee Depot, Genesee, and Nws Milwaukee/sullivan. This includes the following highway
S: Interstate 94 between mile markers 301 and 303. Interstate 43 between mile markers 47 and 59.

Recommended Action

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
