Description

The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Central Dane County in south central Wisconsin Southwestern Dodge County in southeastern Wisconsin Northern Jefferson County in southeastern Wisconsin Until 1015 PM CDT. At 911 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Madison, Sun Prairie, Fitchburg, Watertown, Middleton, Waunakee, McFarland, Monona, Windsor, Lake Mills, Marshall, Waterloo, Deforest, Cottage Grove, Cross Plains, Johnson Creek, Deerfield, Shorewood Hills, Maple Bluff and Ixonia.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
