Description

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Wisconsin Wisconsin River at Castle Rock Dam affecting Juneau and Adams Counties. Wisconsin River at Muscoda affecting Grant, Richland and Iowa Counties. .Between 6 and 8 inches of rain has fallen along the Wisconsin River this month. This has resulted in major flooding in central Wisconsin, and will cause minor flooding at Muscoda.
What: Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
Where: Wisconsin River at Castle Rock Dam.
When: Until Sunday evening.
Additional Details: - At 10:10 AM CDT Thursday the flow was 47,711.0 cfs. - Bankfull flow is 20,000.0 cfs. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river flow in the 24 hours ending at 10:10 AM CDT Thursday was 47,711.0 cfs. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 47,490.0 cfs tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. - Flood flow is 30,000.0 cfs. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 45,647.0 cfs on 04/12/2011. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Additional river and weather information is available at www.weather.gov/lacrosse. The next statement will be issued Friday morning by 1115 AM CDT.
