Description

What: Very cold wind chills as low as 5 below expected.
Where: In North Carolina, Caswell, Rockingham, and Stokes Counties. In Virginia, Appomattox, Buckingham, Campbell, Charlotte, Halifax, Henry, and Pittsylvania Counties.
When: From 7 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Sunday.
Impacts: Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Recommended Action

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. If you do not have heat in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the cold.
