At 512 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Burnt Chimney, or 7 miles south of Stewartsville, moving east at 20 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Impact: Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Moneta Stewartsville Chamblissburg Burnt Chimney Thaxton Northwest Smith Mountain Lake and Goodview.

Prepare immediately for LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. For your safety, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows.
