THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 62 IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN KENTUCKY THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN NORTHEAST KENTUCKY LAWRENCE IN VIRGINIA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA DICKENSON IN WEST VIRGINIA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA MINGO IN WESTERN WEST VIRGINIA WAYNE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BREAKS INTERSTATE PARK, CEREDO, CLINTWOOD, KENOVA, LOUISA, WAYNE, WILLIAMSON, AND YATESVILLE LAKE STATE PARK.

Description

What: South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
Where: Portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, southwest Virginia, and central, northeast, northern, southeast, southern, and western West Virginia.
When: Until 11 AM EDT Monday.
Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and scattered power outages may result.
Additional Details: The strongest winds are expected just ahead of, coincident with, and just behind the cold front.
