Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Description

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessiverainfall is expected.* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the followingcounties, Travis and Williamson.* WHEN...Until 500 PM CDT.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Ponding of waterin urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 200 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. This will cause urban and small streamflooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected overthe area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville,Taylor, Granger, Serenada, Windemere, Anderson Mill, Leander,Hutto, Lago Vista, Hudson Bend, Bartlett, Liberty Hill,Jarrell, Weir, Georgetown Dam and Sun City.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
