At 1230 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms over Alvin, moving northeast at 10 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Southwestern Pasadena, eastern Pearland, League City, Texas City, Friendswood, Alvin, Dickinson, South Houston, Santa Fe, Seabrook, Webster, eastern Manvel, Kemah, Greater Hobby Area, Clear Lake, South Belt / Ellington, Nassau Bay, Taylor Lake Village, El Lago, and Brookside Village.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Flood Advisory
What: Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston and Harris.
When: Until 345 PM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 1234 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Southeastern Pasadena, Pearland, League City, Baytown, Texas City, Friendswood, La Porte, Deer Park, Alvin, Dickinson, La Marque, Santa Fe, Seabrook, Webster, Hitchcock, Manvel, Kemah, Clear Lake, South Belt / Ellington and Greater Hobby Area. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
