Hot temperatures are expected over South-Central Texas today andcontinues through the middle of this week. High temperatures willreach the mid to upper 90s over most areas today and above 100degrees across parts of Val Verde County. Heat index values willclimb into the 104 to 108 degree range over much of the I-35corridor, coastal plains and Val Verde county.Those spending extended time outdoors and not acclimated to thisheat could be susceptible to heat related illness if not takingproper heat precautions, such as drinking plenty of water andtaking frequent breaks out of the sun and heat.
