Description


Elevated To Critical Fire Weather Conditions Expected Across West Central Texas This Afternoon: .The strong pressure gradient across west Texas today will continue to provide breezy to windy conditions across west central Texas through the rest of the afternoon. In additionrelative humidity values will continue to fall below 20 percent at temperatures continue to warm this afternoon. The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect until 5 PM CST this afternoon.
Affected Area: Fisher, Nolan, Sterling, Coke, Runnels, Irion, Tom Green, Concho, Crockett, Schleicher, Sutton, Haskell, Throckmorton, Jones, Shackelford, Taylor, Callahan, Coleman, Brown, McCulloch and San Saba.
Timing: Until 5 PM CST this afternoon.
Winds: South 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
Relative Humidity: As low as 15 percent.
Impacts: Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Recommended Action

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will occur shortly. A combination of strong winds, low humidity and dry fuels will contribute to extreme fire behavior.
