SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 100 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 4 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN TEXAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL TEXAS KIMBLE MASON MENARD SUTTON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CLEO, ERNA, FORT MCKAVETT, FREDONIA, HEXT, JUNCTION, KATEMCY, KOOCKVILLE, LONDON, LOYAL VALLEY, MASON, MENARD, PONTOTOC, ROOSEVELT, SEGOVIA, SONORA, STREETER, AND TELEGRAPH.

Description

What: Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Concho, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard and Sutton.
When: Until 245 AM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 1142 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Brady, Junction, Menard, London, Yates Crossing, Saline, South Llano River State Park, Segovia, Hext, Long Mountain, Roosevelt, Fort Mckavett, Telegraph, Streeter, Calf Creek, Brady Lake, Us-83 Near The Kimble-Menard County Line, The Intersection Of Us-83 And Ranch Road 1773, Cleo and The Intersection Of Us-83 And Highway 29. - This includes Interstate 10 between Mile Markers 419 and 477. This includes the following Low Water Crossing
S: South Blackburn between Adkins and 13th, Park Road 73 crossing South Llano River, White Street at Live Oak Creek, US HWY 377 crossing South Llano River, County Road 120 crossing East Cow Creek, Toe Nail crossing San Saba River, crossings along FM 1221, FM 2169 crossing Johnson Fork Creek, Decker St. crossing San Saba River and RM 2291 crossings along Bear Creek. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
