Description

At 1038 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles north of I-10 Near The Crockett-Pecos County Line, or 9 miles north of Sheffield, moving northeast at 40 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of north central Crockett County. This includes Interstate 10 between Mile Markers 329 and 341.

Recommended Action

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 200 AM CDT for west central Texas.
