Special Weather Statement
At 638 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles south of Brenham to near Industry to 7 miles north of Columbus. Movement was east at 20 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include Brenham, Hempstead, Bellville, Industry, Frelsburg, New Ulm, and Cat Spring.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Flood Advisory
What: Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Austin, Harris, Montgomery and Waller.
When: Until 815 PM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Additional Details: - At 651 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Tomball, Sealy, Brookshire, Pinehurst, Hockley, San Felipe, Stagecoach, Pattison, Cypress and Monaville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
