Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Portions of East Arkansas, including the following counties, Crittenden, Cross, Mississippi, Poinsett and St. Francis and West Tennessee, including the following counties, Fayette, Haywood, Lauderdale, Shelby and Tipton.
When: Until 1215 PM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 903 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen with additional rainfall expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Bartlett, Southaven, Collierville, Germantown, Olive Branch, West Memphis, Forrest City, Marion, Brownsville, Millington, Covington, Wynne, Osceola, Earle, Luxora, Parkin, Wilson, Madison, Tyronza and Meeman Shelby Forest State Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
