What: Heat index values up to 103 degrees expected.
Where: Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York Counties.
When: From 11 AM Thursday to 8 PM EDT Friday.
Impacts: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Additional Details: Some showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday may provide local relief from the heat, but it will remain very humid. It will then turn much less humid this weekend in the wake of a cold front, but temperatures will remain above normal.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an air-conditioned room. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Review heat safety and preparedness information at weather.gov/safety/heat. Check up on relatives and neighbors, and provide pets with adequate water and shelter from the sun. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
