Description

There continues to be an increased risk of fire spread throughSunday. Relative humidity values Sunday afternoon will drop to 20to 30 percent across much of the area. Winds will be lighter fromthe north to northwest around 5 to 10 mph, turning west in theafternoon with temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s andabundant sunshine. Vegetation remains very dry and couldpotentially become fuel for fires. These conditions will supportthe spread of any fires that ignite, which could quickly becomedifficult to control.Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Be sure to properlyextinguish or dispose of any potential ignition sources, includingsmoking materials such as cigarette butts. Refer to your state'sforest fire management agency for more information on burnrestrictions in your local area.Relative humidity values will be around 25 to 35 percent on Mondaywith winds remaining around 5 to 10 mph. Burn restrictions maystill be in place given the very dry conditions and lack of anyrecent rainfall.
