Description

At 604 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line extending from Blanchard to Pine Glen to near Philipsburg, moving southeast at 35 mph.
Hazard: Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than one-quarter mile. Wind gusts greater than 35 mph.

Impact: Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous within minutes. For those driving on Interstate 80, this includes areas between the Penfield and Jersey Shore exits, specifically from mile markers 118 to 188. This includes Interstate 99 from mile markers 76 to 85. This includes the following highway
S: Route 220 from Bellefonte to Mill Hall. Route 322 from Clearfield to Philipsburg. State Road 26 from Pleasant Gap to I-80. State Road 45 from Millheim to east of Aaronsburg. State Road 350 near Philipsburg. Locations impacted include Clearfield, Bellefonte, Woodward, Pleasant Gap, Philipsburg, Woodland, Lamar, Zion, Mill Hall, Hyde, Centre Hall, and Milesburg.

Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden whiteout conditions. If traveling on a highway, find the nearest exit or rest area and park safely away from traffic. Allow snow squalls to pass before attempting to resume travel.
