What: Very cold wind chills as low as 14 below zero expected.
Where: Portions of east central Ohio, southwest and western Pennsylvania, and northern and the northern panhandle of West Virginia.
When: From 7 PM this evening to 11 AM EST Sunday.
Impacts: The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
Air Quality Alert
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Alert for Fine Particulates for the Liberty/Clairton area, including Clairton, Glassport, Lincoln, Liberty, and Port Vue, until 10 PM EST this evening. A code ORANGE air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include children, the elderly, and people suffering from asthma, heart disease, or other lung diseases. The effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding outdoor exercise or strenuous activity.
